Mr. Waters has worked in the real estate investment and finance industry for over 5 years specializing in the acquisition, underwriting, closing, asset management and work-out of various classes of real estate investments. His experience includes the acquisition of individual real estate assets, large property portfolios, performing and non-performing commercial real estate loans and securities, as well as take-private transactions, corporate-level restructurings and distressed investments.

As an Acquisitions Associate at Starwood Capital Group, Mr. Waters played a key role in the acquisition of over $1.0B of investments in the last two years ranging from equity investments in individual properties to the purchase of the assets of a failed financial institution in partnership with the FDIC to the reorganization and restructuring of an Australian REIT.

Prior to Starwood, Mr. Waters worked for Banc of America Securities LLC in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group where he focused on mergers and acquisitions including a number of advisory and capital raising assignments for clients in the REIT, REOC and real estate private equity arena. Mr. Waters holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Business and a minor in French from the University of Georgia.
